
Promotes awareness of the nature of family violence, i.e., child abuse and neglect and spouse abuse problems and publicizes services available to deal with these serious and complicated problems throughout the installation and in partnership with local social service agencies. The primary function of this position is to plan, develop and coordinate, and direct the operation of (1) the Family Advocacy Program and (2) Sexual Assault Program (3) New Parent Support Program (4) Victim Advocacy.ġ. Education programs are designed to increase participants awareness of the dynamics of alternative solutions to problems leading to family crisis, their awareness of the dynamics of family violence, and sexual abuse of children, the resources available to them to assist them in meeting their needs, and skills necessary to sustain effective family relationships/support systems.

The Army Community Service, Family Advocacy Program Manager (FAPM) coordinates the prevention, direct services, administration, evaluation, and training efforts of the FAP on the installation to ensure regulatory compliance and a fully coordinated community response. Work is evaluated in terms of overall program effectiveness, soundness of recommendations, and effective use of resources. The supervisor is available to provide advice and guidance on precedent-setting situations or problems with potentially serious consequences. Incumbent independently plans, implements, and manages the diverse program services of FAP, based on professional know1edge of social and behavioral sciences, administrative and service skills, and knowledge of Army and command policies, objectives and priorities.

Incumbent has full technical responsibility for the FAP Program, to include accountability for the quality and types of services provided and for overall program effectiveness, and promoting acceptance of the program. Supervision is provided through periodic discussions on Family Advocacy Program (FAP) programs and activities.
